HARD DODGERS
ABOUT:
Finally, with the patented Wavestopper™ hard dodger design, there is a rigid fiberglass topped hard dodger that is aesthetically pleasing as well as economical.
TECHNOLOGY AND CONSTRUCTION:
The Wavestopper is a patented solid fiberglass top approximately 1/4" thick at the top thinning to approximately 1/8" at the ends. Wavestopper is hand laid up and mounted on two separate stainless steel bows for superior Wavestopper™ strength. When properly installed by an authorized dealer, the Wavestopper™ is strong enough to stand on!
The Wavestopper™ Mark II is also hand laid fiberglass but mounts onto a conventional style dodger frame. It may be possible to reuse an existing frame if it is made of at least 1" stainless steel and has a bend radius of no less than 10". The Mark II is very strong but, because of the variations of frame design, we do not recommend that you stand on this model. You can certainly lean on it or put a knee up on it when furling your main or putting the mains'l cover on. The Mark II is a lighter lay up of fiberglass and a bit more flexible than the original Wavestopper™.
